GVI Security closed its doors the first week of September, 2011. They were a master distributor for Samsung security cameras systems, so their closing left many security dealers without a Samsung supplier. In response, Samsung has enlisted a few U.S. distributors to carry their products including 2D Electronics.
What makes 2D Electronics unique is that they are a stocking distributor. They plan to stock many of Samsung’s IP camera lines including iPOLiS with the Onvif communications protocol.
Samsung is a pioneer in HD (High Definition) Surveillance.
Samsung’s new line introduces 3 Megapixel cameras in full HD resolution and other great features such as WDR (Wide Dynamic Range), SSDR (Samsung Super Noise Reduction), smart codec and more.

Multiple codec and streaming performance
Samsung’s IP cameras support simultaneous streaming of multiple video compression technologies such as H.264, MPEG-4, and MJPEG.
| Example: Stream all these video formats at the same time | ||
|---|---|---|
| 1280 x 720 | H.264 10 fps | NVR Recording Backup |
| 800 x 600 | MPEG-4 30 fps | PC for Monitoring |
| 320 x 240 | MJPEG 5 fps | Smart Phone |
| 1280 x 1025 | JPEG Snapshot | Email Notification |
| 640 x 480 | H.264 5 fps | Camera’s internal SD Card |
SSDR (Samsung Super Dynamic Range)

Samsung’s network cameras all include SSDR technology. Contrasting light causes areas of the image to appear invisible to the operator; SSDR technology increases the level of visible detail in these dark areas, while maintaining image clarity and detail in the brighter areas to produce a much more balanced image.
SSNRIII (Samsung Super Noise Reduction III)

The third generation SSNRIII technology utilizes both an adaptive 2D filter that reduces the noise that can be found in low light images and an adaptive 3D filter which reduces noise caused by movement. The resulting image created by a Samsung network camera is sharper (reduced blur) and clearer (reduced noise) when viewing in low light conditions.
Progressive Scan
Samsung’s progressive scan feature enables images of moving objects to be clearly and noiselessly captured allowing detail to be plainly seen.

Hybrid Cameras with Analog Video Out Port
Samsung’s line of network cameras come fully equipped with hybrid capabilities. An analog video out port enables analog monitor device connection for easy installation. These hybrid cameras make it easy to switch from analog to IP when your company is ready to make the move.

Wow, that is some awesome resolution! I love those cameras!
